RYAN, Ronald (Ron) Francis - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Father, Ronald (Ron) Francis Ryan, of High Level, Alberta, on December 29, 2023.
Born on April 7, 1945, in Viking, Alberta, to parents Frank and Aileen. As a young man, Ron enlisted in the RCN and completed his tour of duty aboard the HMCS Chaudiere as AB. He was honoured and proud to serve his country. He later was employed as a Welder/Fitter in Edmonton, Alberta, where he settled for many years before relocating to High Level to be closer to his son Cody.
Ron enjoyed many leisure activities, but most especially he enjoyed fishing, golfing and loved spending time with his boys, and cuddling and spoiling his grand-kitties. He especially cherished his time spent with his son Cody living in High Level.
Ron is survived by his devoted sons, Cody, Chris (Tracy), and son Lonnie and Granddaughter Terr-Lynn. His is also survived by his mother Aileen, sister Laureen, brother Darcy and former spouse Charlotte (Neil) McKellar who was a dear part of his life and whom he shared many memories. He was predeceased by his father Frank and sister Betty. At Ron's request, no services will be held. (The Edmonton Journal 09 Jan 2024)
