DAVIS, William Secord - It is with tremendous sadness that the family of William Secord Davis, in his 99th year, announces his passing at the Veterans Health Centre, Moncton, NB, on December 7, 2022. Born in Smiths Creek, NB, he was the first son of the late Ralph and Doris (Secord) Davis.

 

Bill proudly served in World War II with the 8th New Brunswick Hussars Reserve 1942-1944 as a telegraphist on the HMCS French and the HMCS Winnipeg, as well as with the Algerine Minesweepers along the North Atlantic coastline escorting the merchant supply ships destined for Europe.

 

He was actively involved with the Royal Canadian Legion, the Steven Masonic Lodge, the Moncton Luxor Shrine Club, and was a member of the Luxor Mini-Kar unit for many years.

 

Dearly loved father of Alanna (Ray Coates). Grandfather of Meaghan (Peter Messere). Great-grandfather to Hudson and Spencer. Survived by his brother Allen (Joyce), brother-in-law George Robinson, and sister-in-law Florence.

 

Besides his parents, Bill is predeceased by his wife Margaret (Cameron) Davis, brothers Eugene (Geraldine) and Harold, sisters Pauline (Lew MacAfee) and Betty Robinson and infant sister Dianne. He will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him. (Cole's Funeral Home)
