Pete later moved to Manitoba and worked as a Court Reporter in Portage La Prairie, raising his family until he retired to Victoria. He was a strong community minded member of the School Board in Portage for several years and left behind many friends there when they retired to Victoria. He became a member of Uplands Golf Course and, as only he could, made a number of new friends there. Pete spent many wonderful days on the golf course chasing an elusive hole-in-one. The family joins him in expressing thanks and gratitude to all that supported him through his health battle and to all the friends too numerous to list who kept him in their prayers. For any who are inclined Pete asked that a contribution be made to the Canadian Lung Association, the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
