In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
BEER, Hector - Second World War Veteran - Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Saturday evening July 29, 2006. In his 94th year, W. Hector Beer, the loving husband of Islay Beer (nee Ray). Loving father of Merrie and her husband Robert Welland and Susan and her husband Bill Patton. Loved grandfather of Kurtis and Becky, Stephanie and B.J., Jennifer and her sister Laura. Predeceased by his brothers John and Chester (Tip) and his sister Ruth (Mrs. W.K. Alton). Hector served with the Canadian Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a life long member of Division Street United Church. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Cathy Hird officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to either the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
