In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
SYMINGTON, Bruce - was born October 26, 1945 to James and Elizabeth Symington. He spent his early childhood in Hurkett where his parents ran the general store. He grew up in Current River and never left. He was a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, and an avid outdoorsman but his passion throughout life was photography. Bruce loved to capture the beauty of Thunder Bay through his photos however his favourite pictures to take were of his grandkids. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Lynda, who recently celebrated 54 years together. They especially enjoyed their time at their camp at Superior Shores. Bruce had many jobs throughout his life, from diamond driller to repo man. He eventually started his own accounting and bookkeeping business where he worked alongside his wife for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife Lynda and two wonderful sons Jamie (Carter, Violet and Lilly) and Robbie (Grant), sister-in-law Margaret Grant, brothers Jim, Tim and sister Susan, nephews Craig (Jill), Greg, Tyler, Andy, and nieces Sarah, Courtney and Dana. He was predeceased by his son Michael Richard (at birth), his parents Jim and Bessie Symington, mother and father-in-law Jim and Muriel Grant. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at TBRHSC and the Cancer Centre for the wonderful care he received and a special thank you to Dr. Henry. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will follow in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the TBRHSC Cancer Care Centre or to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
