FIMIO,
Fred A. - passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health
Centre, Barrie on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the age of 100. Fred is
survived by his sons Levi and Micheal Fimio; grandchildren Jesse and Dustin
Fimio. Fred was a WWII D-Day Veteran and survivor who enjoyed collecting
antiques and WWII memorabilia. Fred was also one of North America’s
leading authorities on Japanese Samurai and Swords, writing several books on
the subject. He was also founder and owner of the Japanese Sword Society of
Canada. Friends and family will be received at Legacy Funeral Home 55 Cedar
Pointe Drive, Barrie (parking and entrance on Hwy 400 side of building) on
Tuesday, October 14, 2025 for a Memorial Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
