COOKE, James Henry - Formerly of St. Thomas, passed away at Parkwood Hospital, London, peacefully, on Friday, November 22nd, 2019, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Langley) Cooke and dearly loved father of Richard (Linda), the late Jay (late Donna), Larry (Liz), Mary Kay, K. C. (Marc), Stephanie (Rob) and predeceased by an infant daughter Beverley (1954). Sadly missed by a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the last of his family. Predeceased by 2 sisters Norma and Joan and a brother Donald. Jim was born in Orillia on January 22, 1925, the son of the late Norman Caswell and Myrtle Vera (Holmes) Cooke. Jim moved to St. Thomas in 1954 and was a retired sales manager with Imperial Clevite Ltd. He was a veteran with the Royal Canadian Navy and was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, Orillia. Jim was also a member of the Naval Association of London.

 

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday (November 27th) at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow., with private interment of ashes in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Poppy Fund of the Legion or charity of choice. (The St. Thomas Times-Journal 26 Nov 2019)
