KEATING, William Dougald, AB, A1041, RCNR, MPK - 19 Oct 1940, HMCS BRAS D'OR - son of Henry K. and Mary J. Keating, Grosse Isle, Magdalen Islands, QC.

 

Able Seaman Keating died when his ship, HMCS BRAS D'OR, disappeared on the night of 18-19 Oct 1940 while following a Romanian freighter Ingerner N. Vlassopol in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.  No trace of her or her crew was found.

HMCS BRAS D'OR - Drafted to BRAD D'OR 01 Dec 1939
